Sending Things Back - Our Returns Policy
Nobody likes having to send things back, but sometimes it's necessary. Here's how we handle returns and exchanges at United Foods - we've tried to keep it straightforward.

The 10-Day Window

You've got 10 days from when you bought something to let us know you want to return it. After that, we're afraid we can't help with refunds or swaps - we know it's not ages, but it keeps things fair for everyone.

What Can Come Back to Us

Your item needs to be:

  • Completely unused - still in pristine condition
  • In its original packaging - with all the bits and pieces it came with
  • Accompanied by your receipt or proof you bought it from us
  • Please don't post anything back to the manufacturer - send it our way instead.

    What We Can't Take Back

    Some things just aren't suitable for returns, for obvious reasons:

    Definitely not returnable:
  • Fresh food, flowers, newspapers, or magazines (they'd be past their best by the time they reached us)
  • Personal hygiene items or anything intimate
  • Dangerous materials, flammable liquids, or gases
  • Certain health and personal care products
  • Items we might only partially refund:
  • Books that look well-thumbed
  • CDs, DVDs, games, software, or vinyl records that have been opened
  • Anything that's been damaged or is missing pieces (unless it's our fault)
  • Items that rock up more than 30 days after delivery
  • How Refunds Work

    Once your return arrives with us, we'll:

  • Check it over to make sure everything's in order
  • Drop you an email to confirm we've got it and whether your refund's approved
  • Process your refund back to your original payment method within a few days
  • When Refunds Go Missing

    If your refund seems to have vanished into thin air:

  • Check your bank statement again (sometimes they take a while to show up)
  • Ring your card company - they might be processing it still
  • Have a word with your bank - there can be delays on their end too

  • Sale Items

    Sorry, but sale items are final - we can't offer refunds on bargains, unfortunately.

    Swapping Things

    We'll only exchange items that are faulty or damaged when they arrive. If you need to swap something, email us at enquiries@unitedfoods.co.uk first, then post it to:

    Gift Returns

    If it was marked as a gift when bought, you'll get a gift credit for what it's worth. We'll post you a gift certificate once we've received the return.

    If it wasn't marked as a gift, the refund goes back to whoever originally paid for it - and they'll know you've returned it, just so you're aware.

    Important bits about postage:
  • You pay the return postage - we can't cover that cost
  • Return postage isn't refundable - if you get a refund, we'll subtract the return shipping cost
  • For valuable items (over £75), use tracked postage or insurance - we can't guarantee we'll receive untracked parcels
  • Delivery times vary depending on where you're based
